tdr170
Does anyone use Host Gator and if so what has your experience been. Do you use the FedEx module with Host Gator as our current host does not support PHP soap. If you do not use the FedEx would you give me access to your BO to install with my cred. to see if it works. Going to switch host and need some educated experience before doing so. Thanks.
Dh42
What kind of traffic does your site get?
tdr170
Not to much as we are a niche site selling RC nitro on-road race cars. According to my stats in the month of March we had just around 3000 visits. We are currently with Ipage and have had no issues with hosting, but need better Prestashop support. ie: Cron jobs and PHP soap
Dh42
Do you need an ssl or a dedicated ip address?
tdr170
Will use SSL I don't think dedicated IP is an issue at this time. Host gator seems to have what I need just wondered if anyone has experience with them. The biggest issue is the support of PHP soap as they say they do have this but my current host originally told me the same thing only to find out later they did not. Host Gator also allows some editing of the PHP.ini file but is limited unlike my current host who allows full editing.
Dh42
If you want to pay for your own ip, you will need one with a ssl certificate and pay for your ssl certificate, I can host you on my machine.
sadlyblue
As for hostgator, i can tell you from experience, that they work quite well for a small store. But after we got over 2000 products, they started cutting access to our store due to memore/cpu usage. It would have been sooner if we used multishop. But if you don't plan to have that many products or use multishop,I do recommend them.
