Homeslider banner images not sliding correctly in Chrome

Recommended Posts

I had an ongoing issue with the banner images being broken in Chome... they appeared to slide part way across. The effect was cumulative, the second image stopping about 30 pixels short, the third stopping 60 pixels short, the fourth stopping 90 pixels short. It was not evident in IE 8 or 9.

This has been reported since at least Oct 2012, and bug reports were submitted (and reopened), but were closed because they couldn't replicate the problem.

I have "fixed" the problem by replacing the bxSlider.min.js (v1.7.x) file in the ./module/homeslider/js folder with the current release from bxSlider.com (v1.8.x). I had to tweak some CSS to make it work (the pager buttons moved to the bottom of the page) but at least the Chrome users got correct pictures.
