TailgunnerMedia
Hello all, Does anyone know of a module or method that would allow you to bill the customer once an order has shipped rather than when the order has been placed? I have a client that is losing customers because his products are custom made and take a few weeks to manufacture and his customers don't like the fact that they are being charged before the product is ready. Any help would be awesome! Thanks! Kyle
cocothecat
What is he using for his gateway? You need to change the payment method to "pre auth" this checks to see if customer has funds and will create the order if so, if not it gets devlined. You would then need to manually charge the card BEFORE it ships. I don't think you could talk to your gateway via the store for obvious secuirty issues. What sort of delivery adivce is he offering his customers? Does it state each item is made before shipping?
TailgunnerMedia
Thanks for the reply! He is using USAePay as his gateway. Would the "pre auth" setting be something that would be changed through the gatway or through prestashop? It clearly states on his website the lead time for orders and that they will be charged as soon as the order is placed. He is just concerned that that is scaring customers away. cocothecat
It would be changed through the gateway. Then normally when its ready to ship you sign into the gateway and charge the card
