multiserver + remote mySQL (+ Multishop )

I am trying to connect two PS instalations (the same one, copied and pasted) in two different servers.

And make them share the SQL connexion.

The reason is that I have the two servers already and I want to use them. --

 

So far, I have tried but my mySQLs doesn't allow remote conection. I am trying to change it talking with my cheap host provider. But if is not possible maybe I buy just a new database somewhere.

 

My questions:

-Do you think it will work? If it is impossible you can save me some time.

 

-Will it slow down PS too much?

 

-I am reading about requiring ssh conections to comunicate between servers. Looks complicated for me. Is this a real security risk?

Are you talking about two shared hosting accounts or two dedicated servers? If you are talking two shared hosting accounts it is impossible.

They are shared hosting accounts.

 

I dont understand why the hosting would be a problem. I thougth the database server would be the problematic one.

Maybe sounds silly, but I thougth when configuring prestashop database, I would just need to write new the database server and its user, pasword, etc as any regular PS configuration.

Not really without exposing your database to outside connections. What point are you trying to serve?
