Upgrading to 1.2.0.6 from 1.2.0.2

Hi,
I have a store running on 1.2.0.2 quite successfully and do not seem to have many of the problems experienced by other people.

I have just upgraded 1.2.0.2 to 1.2.0.6 on a test system based on XAMPP and have the following problems

Nothing based on Ajax works, by this I mean the Ajax cart or the dynamic categories
If I add something to the cart it just shows the word product instead of the item title
I cannot delete anything once added to the cart
If I proceed to check out and place the order, in the BO order screen it shows no products.

By contrast if I just install 1.2.0.6 with the example products everything works, I have even tried this working install connected to the updated upgraded DB and thats when it fails, it appears to be a problem when an upgraded DB is connected to the new code.

Has anyone else suffered similar probelsm or got any ideas before I raise a bug report
