problem with paypal API

Recommended Posts

In trying to set up my paypal module, I set up all of the API info that was requested. When I tested the cart, I received the following message upon clicking on the paypal payment.

PayPal response:

TIMESTAMP -> 2013-03-18T17:50:11Z

L_ERRORCODE0 -> 10002

L_SHORTMESSAGE0 -> Authentication/Authorization Failed

L_LONGMESSAGE0 -> You do not have permissions to make this API call

L_SEVERITYCODE0 -> Error

Paypal customer service suggested although I requested and received API credentials, I now need to go to -

Option 1 - Grant API permissions to a third party to use certain PayPal APIs on your behalf.

Is this accurate, and if so, what is the third party permission username for prestashop, that paypal is asking for?

Thanks so much for any help!

Been ages since I set this up but yes I think you have to grant certain permissions. I'd found guides that took you through this step as to which option that you needed. From memory there was two options and that guide I found told me which I had to use. I believe that you get two codes that you then put in to the PayPal module for it to work.

Did you fix this goodstitch?

You need to get your API details from PayPal to enter into the PayPal module in Prestashop.

Login to PayPal and got to -->Profile, then -->My Selling Tools, then -->API Credentials-update

It will give you 2 options. Choose Option 2 -->View API Signature

It will then give you your API username, API Password and Signature.

Login to your prestashop admin, navigate to your PayPal module, click on 'Configure', then 'Settings', enter in your PayPal account email address, your 3 API credentials and make sure Sandbox Mode is set to 'Inactive'.

Is this what you did in the first place? I hope I haven't doubled up on info you already know! LOL :) Hope something here helps.
