wannaspeed
So I have searched High and low on this issue. My hosting is godaddy, just did a fresh install of prestashop 1.5.3.1. The problem is when I activate friendly url's I get a 404 error. From my understanding the htaccess file is created automatically so any fixes involving manually edit is futile since it just gets rewritten. (example http://prestashop-go...y.blogspot.com/) I should note that my shop is installed in a subfolder, Not the root directory. I read there is a bug in 1.5.3 regarding this. (http://www.prestasho...rk/page__st__20) anyways how do i get friendly links working? edit: So i after hrs of searching fixed it, in 30 secs after I posted this. The answer was right there in the link i posted. I had to add the following to the TOP of my htaccess file, I was always sticking the lines after "Do not remove this comment" This is what was added to the top and what worked. #Fix Rewrite Options -Multiviews Edited March 18, 2013 by wannaspeed (see edit history)

vasekcekal
but mod_rewrite I have actiovated on our server. In root I have our old shop version. Here friendly urls works. But on subfolder it doesn't work. I don't know why
vekia
you must have got "follow symlinks" apache param turned to on, because without this apache "dont see" htaccess files in subdirectories
