Alexanderleo
Hello I'm making a shop on domain1. I choose to buy a new domain, when I got a new idea about the name. So now it is called domain2. How do I get the settings I've been up shop over at the new shop? I're not going to move the shop so when I have a new domain. I need actually just all the things I've made changes to the page. Are there any folders I just need to copy onto mi new server via FTP? Greetings Alexander
benjamin utterback
Hi Alexander, yes you can do this. You just need to copy all of your PrestaShop files to the new domain via FTP, and then change the settings in config>settings.inc.php folder... this includes your base URL. Check this thread for more information. http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/149001-can-i-change-prestashop-base-url/
vekia
you must also copy database, just dump your prestashop table and then import it to new database, you can use db manager like phpmyadmin
benjamin utterback
Thanks vekia! I did forget to mention that if you want to keep the same settings and make two store copies, you can just copy the database as vekia said.
Alexanderleo
So i need to do both things? But if I transfer the databse then i will get some of the names from the other store?
benjamin utterback
Yes, that is how you would copy the shop to another domain. I would not think that connecting your PS files from another store to a clean PS database would work. Especially if you have done any customization.
