ilyaskhan
I am new to this so any help would be appreciated. I enabled friendly url, then transfered the prestasite to a new domain. Now, links and images open to a blank page. Disabling friendly url doesn't help. Any suggestions?
tomerg3
What version of PS are you using? Did you change the URL, the folder PS was installed in?
ilyaskhan
v 1.5 Yes. I changed the URL as mentioned in the documentation. I am not sure what else could I be missing. Or perhaps I could re-install prestashop on/with existing data.
tomerg3
Check the DB, table ps_shop_url and make sure the correct URL is showing there. If it is, try to delete the .htaccess file in the main folder of Prestashop, and turn off friendly URL in the backoffice, see if that helps. ilyaskhan
Will do and get back with you shortly. Thank you for prompt response!
ilyaskhan
Checked the DB table ps_shop_url and it reflects the correct URL. Deleted the .htaccess file in the main folder (which is root), and friendly URL is already off in the backoffice. The result is the same, i.e., when I click to view a product, the resulting page displays blank.
tomerg3
Then it's likely something else. Turn on error reporting in /config/defines.inc.php and try the product page again.
ilyaskhan
Sure enough, here's the output: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 30720 bytes) in /home/public_html/tools/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_compile_if.php on line 128 How do I go about rectifying this? tomerg3
You can try to create a php.ini file with more memory, but most likely you will have to contact your host about it. You can see an example and read about php.ini at http://presto-changeo.tumblr.com/post/17589539698/understanding-php-ini-how-and-why-you-need-one
ilyaskhan
Okay! I am beginning to get a bit of sense of how to go about getting the product images to display — if indeed lack of sufficient memory allocation is the underlying cause for them to not display. The odd thing tomerg3 is that the shop is functioning without any issues on the original/source domain that I moved prestashop from and both domains are hosted the same host. Thank you for the link you provided on 'how and why' of php.ini and find out if my host can increase it.
ilyaskhan
Worked like a charm! Thank you tomerg3. You know tomerg3 that's just wonderful!
ilyaskhan
Can you please explain why the original shop (that I moved the current shop from) is immune from this issue?
ilyaskhan
Am re-setting error reporting to off.(comment #8) This case is solved. On to next one. Thanks once again. Edited March 14, 2013 by ilyaskhan (see edit history)
tomerg3
It either had more ram, or was using less memory (as the error indicated it was barely going over the allocated memory)
ilyaskhan
I see. How do I mark this issue [sOLVED]? Could you perchance also look at http://www.prestasho...-moved-to-left/ and ignore comment #2?
