Remove item from Customers cart (I am confused)

Hi,

I just had a customer order some goods, of which 1 item is unavailable so I went into BO and went to their order to remove that item, My payment method is PAYPAL which says Authorization accepted from paypay, I have not clicked the get money now button, instead I clicked the box next to the item to remove from order and clicked Refund Products, that item is still visible as shown in screen-cap.

 

I need to remove it so the price is removed from the price before I click Get Money, as I don't want the customer charged. This is kind of urgent now if anybody can assist me I would be delighted...

 

Is this possible?

Because the order has not been completed you cannot refund the money, complete the order then you should be able to refund the money for that item.

Also since you already have refund applied once you complete the order the money for that item will be refunded.

Not 100% sure as I have never refunded any money but seems logical.

You can not refund money that you have not collected so give it a shot, if not automatic then you will need to do a refund in the order as you have already described.
