"Visitors online now" stuck at 0

Recommended Posts

Everything has been working fine with this until yesterday when I changed my time zone in "config.inc.php" from Europe to "America/Los_Angeles" on line 16.

date_default_timezone_set('America/Los_Angeles');

Now the "Visitors online now" stays stuck at 0 even when I hit the site from another IP. But the total visitors seems to increment correctly, its just the "online now" stat that doesnt work. thanks for any advice.

I had this same problem this morning and searched the forums for an answer.

I tried the solutions posted in this thread: http://www.prestashop.com/forums/viewthread/10869/modules___development/visitors_online_bo

(changing the time zone in config>> config.inc.php) but that did not work for me.

After a lot of frustration, I finally went to the time zone in my back office/Preferences and switched it to a different time zone. (i.e. mine was set at US/Central and I changed it to US/Michigan). I closed my windows, cleared my cookies/cache, went back into the BO as well as my FO and the visitors online now worked. I then went back into BO/Preferences and changed the time zone back to my correct one and checked the stats again. They still worked.

Seems to easy to be true with all the fixes that were posted, but it worked for me. No database or file changes needed.

Hopefully that will help someone else.

Try to check table ps_connections_page in your mysql.
In my case, I've made upgrade 1.1.0.5 > 1.2.0.5 and found this table is missing... Not sure why.
I ran following query...

CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `ps_connections_page` (
 `id_connections` int(10) unsigned NOT NULL,
 `id_page` int(10) unsigned NOT NULL,
 `time_start` datetime NOT NULL,
 `time_end` datetime default NULL,
 PRIMARY KEY  (`id_connections`,`id_page`,`time_start`)
) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8;

Now everything working well. Hope it helps. If not, check the structure of tables where the records are stored:

ps_connections
ps_connections_page
ps_connections_source
