Sudden Change in Google Site Links

Okay - I like that Google is giving my site links a week after switching from static html to Prestashop but the site links listed are not exactly desirable :)

I thought the robots file (although not a guarantee) would disallow these no? Aside from demoting the links from within web tools, what would be a better way to clean this up?

Kinda what I thought. I suppose I could add those individual pages to the robots file at the same time as demoting them.

Glad to see I Google likes my on-page SEO for useless pages. Especially the manufacturers which is completely void of content save for a single <h1> tag.

The selections it made were weird, I would remove them from the index actually and not demote them. Make sure your robots.tx reflects them also. I would also rewrite the manufactures to maybe the base category since it is empty.

Yeah, 3 of the links are carts with a few items in them, probably from testing. Good point on removing them - that is a better solution and will rewrite the mfg page too.

I am also getting duplicate metas on 8 different versions of the new products page. I'm thinking chasing down these occurrences and ones like this are going to be a pain every time a page is regenerated with new data.

That is about the only way to deal with it. Search engines completely decides the website hyperlinks its not really anything that you can do something about . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
