Limit maximum available carriers at checkout

Hi everyone,

i previously had a question about how to properly configure the shipping part of prestashop. i wanted to define carton weights for each item on my store. check other thread here... http://www.prestasho...336#entry942336

 

Then version 1.5 came out i saw that you could select specific carriers for each item. so i thought that this could solve my problem.

 

So the solution i thought of was to create a "carrier" for each box i'm using and defining the ranges based on the carton weight.

 

example:

range 0-0.5KG would be 0 to 0.36KG (because the box itself weights 240grm)

 

i'm using DHL, TNT express and registered mail. so i have to create one "carrier" for each carton i have and i have to do that for all the 3 shipping companies i work with.

 

so the store is working as it should, but if someone buys very small items i get a huge list of carriers to choose from at checkout, and that is not ideal.

 

what i would like to do is to limit the list to just two carriers. cheapest and fastest (or just one if it was the same) because i don't need to see the other bigger cartons which will sometimes end up having higher prices.
