sahwira Posted March 8, 2013 Share Posted March 8, 2013 This solution applies for those encountering this error when installing prestashop to their hosting site and not for those installing on their desktop or local host. Apparently, the IP address or server that I used to upload prestashop is NOT the same one for the database I created at my hosting site (Godaddy in my case). So if you have this error message at step 3, system configuration, go to your remote hosting site where you created the database and get the IP address for the database or call your host and they can locate it for you.
