Attempting to set up a Prestashop ecommerce site with Agency format

We are attempting to get all our ducks in a row, and want to buy the right add-on modules. We will be implementing a lot of Kinro's Agile add-ons, as we are opening an Agency Model site (we get a commission on the product sold, and the Reseller makes the bulk of the sale)

 

Our problem is this: We will be selling business reports for various Software Programs. There are many out there, but we will start with one. Within that one Software company, there are over 8 different types of software we will call children. Within each of those children, there are several Versions, as well as each Version of the report could be written for different platforms ie MS SQL, Pervasive, etc. Each report has to be written for each particular Platform.

 

There are a few questions that I want to pose here:

 

1) Because down the road I might want to "unhook" one particular Software database, in order to sell it that database with all the reports, resellers, and clients, I want to set up my products on one particular "domain", or URL? Which one do I do? I have purchased various domain names for each Software company, but do I attach the domains to the main store, do I have a seperate login for these various Software programs, or do I have them all under one domain, with various URLs? There is the issue of clients maybe having one type of software, that maybe if they see a report for another type of software, might migrate to that, just to be able to get the report.

 

Also, some clients have several types of Software - ie Quickbooks, Simply Accounting (say to do one particular function), so I don't want to seperate them completely. Perhaps these clients need to be set up with different "Groups"? But what if they belong to 2 or 3 Groups?

 

2) Another issue is Newsletters. I want to be able to send out the "Simply Accounting" clients all the NEW reports that have been uploaded just for Simply Accounting, and not all the other new ones.

 

3) Try as I might, and I have spent hours and hours looking for this, I remember seeing a program that links downloadable files to one image. But now, I can't locate that add-on. Anyone remember seeing this?

 

These are just a few of the most pertinent questions I have - any help with this would be so appreciated!
