Changing Colours

Recommended Posts

I am wondering if there is any way to make my shop look less boring without having to purchase a fancy theme?

All I want to be able to do is change the background to one I have made? All the other shop software a I tried let me do this! Also to be able to change the box colours and text colours etc. the software seems good so far but very limited on the design front which is quite disappointing

I Am looking for a software I can create a website I am proud of not just for selling items and at the moment I don't know if this is right for me as I really want something the looks good and stands out

Thanks

My suggestion is not to do it. You can't just learn it in a week, it takes years to master and to know the inner workings. You've got to ask somebody else, or purchase a template for about 50$ at themeforest maybe :)

Makes me very sad but thank you!!!! So I can't even add my own background to make my site unique?

Also I am trying to find how to make my site English without the American word spellings with z and not s is this possible or not?

Sorry I am really new to all this web building stuff and just want a nice friendly but pretty site for my small business.

You can' try but I don't recommend it

place your image inside the theme folder /img

take note of the name and extension

open global.css

locate "body"

and add this row

background: white url(',,/img/nameoftheimage.jpg') 0 0 no-repeat;

But there's a chance you mess up things if you don't know CSS

Thank you I will try tomorrow when I get back to the computer. Does CSS use the number codes for colors? While using other sites each colour had codes with letters and numbers. Is it possible to find in the CSS code the current colour codes and just change them with some work?

Sorry if I am being dense. There is probably a reason not many women are into computer stuff as its not meant for us but I do understand a little bit :)

Hi weezawoo, for the translations it is possible but you would need to edit each word manually.

If you go to Localization>Translations> Front Office Translations (Click on American Flag) You can see all the words to translate. What words would you like to change?

Thank you! So far the main one was customisation as it spells it with a z and as I am selling in UK to start I just thought it looked bad on me. I need to put a lot of work in but I hope it is worth it :)

Thank you for this, I sorted this out just now :) Would never have known I could do it!

I was checking information, quite desperate I must admit , I saw your post . I tried myself with no success, lol, cause I have no idea about css. Well, at least you took your time trying to help us, those who know nothing about this. So thank you :D !!!
