Patric
During the installation, you've been told to rename your admin folder into something else...Your Back Office path is your Front Office path followed by your admin folder name, like :www.mysite.com/adminXYZ
nycpicasso
I guess I am going to have to reinstall since it didn't pass step 4 on the install but I was able to get my page up and then I reset the layout the way I want it to look. Do you have any other suggestions. When I hit the back button to try the step 4 again it said something to the fact that I will have to make a new database since the one I had set the first time was already taken. nycpicasso
Ok, I made a copy of all the files so that I don't lose all the work that I have done today. I have dumped all the files and the database to reinstall from scratch now the same problem has come up. I can't get passed Step 4 on the installation, I filled in all of the fields and when I hit the next button it doesn't go anywhere. The version that I am trying to install is PrestaShop 1.1.What do I do at this point?Thank you.
nycpicasso
I found this post from May 09 and it worked to get past Step 4.Looks like the problem was the checkbox in Step 4 for receiving emails. I tried installing again, this time leaving the box unchecked, and everything went fine. I suppose it’s because I’m not on a real server, just my local machine. So when the step tries to email me a confirmation, it can’t and it dies.
Ehinarr
Yes, I had the same problem with the checkbox.

Thanks. In fact, I'd like to know which error is raised in the Firebug consol when it happens.
nycpicasso
Sorry, I do not remember which post it was since I looked at so many to find the answer that I was looking for. I can tell you that there was no error msg that came up but you had to uncheck the checkbox in Step 4 for receiving emails if not it would just flash the status bar briefly and then not continue as I mentioned to you in the earlier posts. This seems to be due to the fact that I am working off of my mac/mamp localhost and not on a live server.I hope this helps you in fixing this issue. Thanks much. How about putting text on that page? Or generate an error message when this goes wrong? Give the poor admin a chance!
