Items Not Showing Up In Admin Category View?

I grabbed a fresh installer and did a clean install on my local machine. I had the installer install demo items to the db. It finished with no errors…

 

The issue is I cannot see item in the category view in the admin interface. I see items in the store front, I see items in the item admin view, but not in the category view?

 

Configuration of broken code/bug?

Hi John,

 

The 'items' you would see in the category view are not the products, but any subcategories that might be in this category. So it's NOT a menu to see the products in this category.

 

You can see f you press "Add new" that it will try to create a new subcategory.

 

If you want to see products of a special category alone, go to catalog->products, and the check the checkbox at the top left "filter by category"
