DonaldIU
Hey guys, I need a good host for my blog, which host do u think is better? BlueHost or HostGator? Pls give me some advises, thank you. Here's an article, what do u guys think? So who is the best website host? With such a variety of potential hosts, all preaching basically the same benefits, it can be difficult to decide which to use. For the sake of time, I am going to give a quick review of the two hosts that I would recommend to nearly 95% of people. They are Bluehost and Hostgator. Comparing Pricing: The pricing structures for both Bluehost and HostGator are pretty simple. HostGator shared plans start at around $4.95/mo and go up to $14.95/mo. HostGator's reseller hosting plans start at $24.95/mo and get up to $99.95/mo. Finally their dedicated servers start at $174/mo and can reach prices such as $375/mo. Bluehost simply offers one plan: shared hosting. This plans comes with a minimum commitment of 1 year. Like HostGator, Bluehost offers unlimited features on just about everything. Though since BlueHost only offers shared plans, if they feel that a user is abusing their unlimited feature rights, so they don't adversely affect the other users. Comparing Features: You are going to receive just about the same exact feature from both hosts. They both offer the cPanel dashboard, with site builders such as Fantastico and Simple Scripts. Both support Ruby on Rails and PHP5. They offer unlimited bandwidth, unlimited e-mail accounts, unlimited storage, unlimited FTP accounts and much more. You can look through the compatibility documents of each host to make sure they will support your needs prior to buying a package. Perhaps the biggest difference in features has to do with BlueHost not offering reseller or dedicated hosting, while HostGator offers a variety of packages that includes reseller and dedicated hosting accounts. What you will pay for each hosting company: Basically, as the companies work it out in their marketing plans, they each offer the same price for 1 YEAR of hosting. That is if you make it to one year. Clearly HostGator offers a more flexible plan and is why they are able to convert more people. HostGator is also the cheaper choice in the long run. Though don't forget to search for coupons and promos that each company offers quite regularly. In the end, HostGator takes the cake for best pricing options.
