Premsig.com
Hi. Newbie here with a quick question: I've installed Prestashop in a subfolder on my website host, so that I can keep my current site running while I build the new shop. When it's ready, can I just move all the files to the root directory, or does it need to be actually installed in the root for it to work there? Thanks in advance. Premsig.com
It's the latest, v1.5.3, and I've actually installed it in a subdomain, not subfolder. Edited February 17, 2013 by Premsig.com (see edit history)
gonebdg - webindoshop.com
Yes you can. Just move all files to your public_html and then go to phpMyAdmin (your database editor) >> open DB table PREFIX_ shop_url (default prestashop PREFIX = ps_) and change : domain domain_ssl physical_uri
El Patron
it should be a simple matter, back office-->preferences-->seo urls scroll down to set shop url set the base uri, to the folder containing your new shop... this way you would not really need to move it from the subfolder...you simply change the base uri to point to the new shop...then falling back if there was something wrong with your new shop..you would just replace the base uri back, probably to / regardless, if you move the files to your root...then you would not need to change anything....

Premsig.com
OK, so I've just moved all the files to the root directory, and changed the urls in preferences-->seo urls. The index page loads when I type my website address, but, apart from the image slider, product images are not being displayed and product and category links are broken. What do I need to do? TIA Website is www.premsig.com. I moved the files from http://potcake.premsig.com Edited February 23, 2013 by Premsig.com (see edit history)
Premsig.com
OK, I found that Automatically redirect to Canonical URL had been activated. I switched it off and now my product and category links work, but still none of the images are being displayed. How can I get them back?
Premsig.com
All right, I think I've solved this! I regenerated the thumbnails, and now everything seems to be working fine.
