[Solved, Thanks Bellini13!] Cannot Enter My (Locally Installed) Front Office

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

What I try: I have a running website (PS 1.4.6.2), and try to make a local mirror of it, to see if upgrading give problems.

I downloaded all files and the database contents, moved it all to http:localhost/phelinelocal

I created, filled and connected the database.

The backoffice works: I can enter it by going to http://localhost/phe...mylocaladmindir

Everything seems to work here. I can edit products, see all info etc. Configuration info shows shop URL as http://localhost/phelinelocal, and no permission or other errors.

But, what I canNOT is, enter my front office (i.e. my shop) :-(

I enter the URL

http://localhost/phelinelocal

After <enter> It somehow changes this to

phelinelocal/

And then it complains (naturally) that it cannot find phelinelocal

Another locally installed shop (a clean, local PS 1.6.4.2 installation) works all fine:

(http://localhost/prestatestlocal will give localhost/prestatestlocal in the address bar and I see my shop)

So what makes it change my localhost/phelinelocal change it into phelinelocal only and then returns the not found error?

Anyone?

Thanks,

Pascal

Finally found the culprit :-)

Thanks to Bellini13 in a totally unrelated post!!!

I was fixing a memory problem in BO, and found Bellini13's solution for it by adding

Quote:

You can try to add the following line to the config/config.inc.php file. If this does not work, then you may need to get your host provider to do this for you

ini_set('memory_limit','128M');

(see link here: http://www.prestasho...-configuration/

This fixed the memory problem in the BO, and I directly checked if this had any relation with the front office problem. Yes!

1000x Thanks, Bellini13 :-)
