Currencies not supported in Paypal

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I am running Prestashop 1.5.3.1 as a fresh install. I am struggling to get the Payment restriction and Paypal modules to let the customer to use his currency (Rand). It keeps saying currency not supported.

In the previous versions of Prestashop I could select the default store currency as Rand, and select Dollars/Euro as the Paypal currency.

Now however there is only an option for "Customer Currency" or "Shop Default Currency" under the Currency restrictions in the Payment restrictions module.

If I select the Rand tickbox option for Paypal payment option, the modules give me the Currency not supported error.

I have spent days going through the forum trying to find a solution but to no avail.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

For now with the current module , you would need to set one of the accepted currencies otherwise this error will happen when default shop currency is not supported by paypal.

You have two solutions: 1) if you are going to use PayPal as your major payment, then use a supported currency as default

2) check with presto-changeo and/or the offical presta shop addon's to see if their PayPal pro will prompt customer to choose a supported currency when they have currently selected a non-supported currency.

as much as I have tried to avoid having payment modules, I think today I am going to kick around fixing this...will post if I resolve because I need for my own shop as well...I have every paypal currency defined, but if I add one non-supported currency...then everyone with other currency supported by payapl is affected...

just tested this, it will not convert rand to a supported currency, I did not test to see if it will prompt your for converting...but I have little hope that it will...they have just changed it to selections in payments...as opposed to the old radio, so if your customer is using rand, they will not be offered the paypal payment method.

  5. L_LONGMESSAGE0 -> Security header is not valid

Hi again elpatron..

I don't think its an issue with the Paypal module, it has to do with the Payment Module restrictions and the Currency restrictions in Prestashop itself.

Is there a way to change this back to an older version?

thanks again

I have tried it and again currency unsupported error.

If it is fixed what do we have to do?

When I install Paypal I get radio button on payment setting and I can chose currency but I cannot disable store and costumer currency, how is that? There is a radio button so I can chose one of those two?

Maybe if I can disable that it will work?

Hi I tried the Paypal Module 3.5.0 and gave me the same error:

Please try to contact the merchant:

  • PayPal response:
  • TIMESTAMP -> 2013-04-26T20:03:36Z
  • L_ERRORCODE0 -> 10605
  • L_SHORTMESSAGE0 -> Transaction refused because of an invalid argument. See additional error messages for details.
  • L_LONGMESSAGE0 -> Currency is not supported
  • L_SEVERITYCODE0 -> Error

This error doesn't occure with the prestashop version 1.3.1.1 where the paypal module use USD instead the defaulf not supported currency.

Hi guys,

I have a smart solution for you. Use latest PayPal for USA module.

1) Before installing it, go to preferences - contact - change country to USA.

2) Install the module and re-change a country to yours.

3) In restriction check all currencies.

I use 1 non supported currency and 1 supported. It works with both :)
