Viewed Products problem

Running PS v1.1

My Viewed Products module seems broken, the links (both from item name and image) are http://the-item and no URL inserted.

Any help please?

Tried this fix

when I changed the code, no page would load.

Changed it back to the original file, now some of the links are ok, some of them are still broken.

The solution in my case was found in another thread:

Change the "Default category" for your items to ANYTHING BUT 'home'.

Now my next questions:

Where is the default category defined?

The default category is defined in a drop down menu just above the tick box tree where u assign products to categories.

My question is where to change the default category globally?

I don't want to have to check this every time I set up a new item. There must be a way to do that once and for all.

Any tips would be very appreciated!
