[MODULE] Gift Card

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I feel sorry if you think the price is too high, but that is the ammount we need to charge.

The module is a charm, it works like this:

1. First, you just need to copy the module to the modules/ folder.
2. Then install it trough your admin.
3. Then you just create a new product, see the attached picture for how to create a giftcard.

(You can create as many gift card products as you need.)

My question is after they purchase the gift cards, can it be set up to send an actually card to someone? And if someone receive the card, do they have to use it up once? How can the system keep track of what the balance will be? Can the receiver come back and check the balance? If the gift card has no enough balance, can they pay for the additional fee to make purchase? We need to test it before we buy it. How can we tell from a picture if how it works?

Hello,

When a customer complete the Gift Card order, an automaticly mail is sended to the buyer. The mail describes what Gift Card you need to use when buying from the site, how many times you can use it and when the Gift Card is expire.

Let's say the customer buys the giftcard, choosing to pay with COD... the giftcard will not send out any mail untill the administrator of the store has changed the status of the order to "Payment accepted".

For now, you cant send the Gift Card to another person... the Gift Card is mailed to the customers e-mail. This is defenetly something we will include in our next release.

We've decided that not program so the giftcard can be used more than 1 time. Basicly it should be like this:

If a customer has a giftcard of 100 EUR and is ordering for 75 EUR, so it should therefore have a giftcard of 25 EUR left.

The idea is that when the customer has their giftcard so it shall consume the whole at once. Usually a customer select the product they want most, and then fill them up basket with unnecessary things they thought that they want, just to use the whole card.

Papaya, if you want to send the gift cards manually, just create a voucher in prestashop admin and email the code.
This module will send a voucher code automaticly when the customer buys a "gift card" product. The voucher created is the same amount as the product.

This module is useless. This module is only good for v.1.1. It only sent out a voucher code to the buyer and the code can only be used one time. The module will not send the codes to the gift receiver. And if the item amount is not equal to the gift card amount, it will not work. Don't buy this module.

What kind of gift card system is it? The module will not send out the codes to the receiver? And the amount has to be the same as the product? The idea about buying gift card is let the receivers choose what they want with in the seller's budget. This module is misleading. It should not be called gift card module.

I purchased this module yesterday only to find out that it is only compatible with v.1.1 and this was not advertised clearly, only if you click the data sheet. It was a mistake on my part to rush into this, so I am partly to blame.
I tried to send a "contact us" e-mail in Opera but received an error message. Tried again today in IE and managed to send a message asking for an updated version.

Someone at Prestaworks e-mailed me back and said the version that is compatible with v.1.3 will be available sometime at the end of this week, or beginning of next week .
Until then, I would advise waiting before purchasing this module from Prestasworks, to see if the issues raised in this thread have been addressed and the new version is working as it should.

It is true that this module did nothing except creates a voucher and send to the buyer. This module will not send the voucher code to the receiver. And the amount has to be the same as the product, otherwise, the amount will be lost as the code can only be used once. It is not worth the money ($77) for such useless module.

This module should not be called gift card module as it only create a voucher code. That is it.

I end up buying this one and I think it is much better. It brought me a lot of business last Christmas

@Pretaworks.....
I hope someone there is taking note of the unhappiness that this "module" is causing for forum members who have purchased this module, or considering this module. This is not good business and many people read this forum and this thread. Do you think they will have confidence in your other products, or want to buy from you with other good WORKING alternatives out there?
Think about it....
