Problem with payment modules - Config setup?

Recommended Posts

I am on Prestashop 1.5.3.1 and have done numerous installs of Prestashop in order to get payments working.

With Klarna 1.6.8 i get the error message "module(s) did not install..." Now i know the zip file withe module is OK since i did succeed once. But then ended up with an error 500 when completing the checkout.

Deleted the Klarna module and now i can not reinstall...

With Paypal 3.4.4 i can install and activate the module, but after that i get error 404 if i click the banner linking: modules/paypal/about.php

I have even done clean installs of Prestashop and just activated Paypal - still 404 error.

Am i missing something?

Do i need to do some manual updates? (e.g. mysql, phpadmin ....)

Do i need to modify htaccess ?

Could my hosting provider have a problem?

All folders have 755 and all files have 644.

Any help would be welcome. I am really pulling my hair.

Hi,

Sorry I' can't help you, but I'm searching for help too, because my problem is similar to yours. The only difference is that my modules/paypal/about.php opens completely white, and I don't know how to edit it.

Also I did put a new nicer banner banner, giving to it the same name of the old one "IT_bnr_vertical_solutiongraphic_150x172.gif"

But the next day I find it replaced with the same old ugly one in it's folder modules/paypal/img/logos/IT_bnr_vertical_solutiongraphic_150x172.gif

I wonder how I can edit the content of the about.php page and change defenitively the banner

I really hope somebody may help us here

Thanks alot

I just reloaded Prestashop using Softaculous (or something like that) and had problems and error messages with some modules - I could not load PayPal for example) I sent a message to my host and this is the reply.

"I have reowned all of your modules to your user. When installing using the web front end they are prevented from being loaded as they are owned by the web server."

If you used a 3rd party software to install Prestashop this obviously is a well-know problem - I had the answer from them in 2-3 minutes!!!

KarenRoma - it's just a thought and I haven't tried it but what if you changed your file and then removed the write permissions - that may stop it being changed - or at least you may get an error message which would give you more information

Leofrog8 - Thank your for the idea, but onestly I dont understand it. Dont know where and how to do this changes. I thing I'l will try to change the whole thing using an advertising bock, put the banner there, create a new cms and link it there

When you have changed your file /IT_bnr_vertical_solutiongraphic_150x172.gif in your ftp do right click and you will see file attributes or file permissions - there will be 9 boxes and some or all will have "ticks" take the ticks out of the column headed "write".

Or you can write "555" in the box.

Uuuuh ??!! Got me!! Have another go and watch the transfer information box in your ftp - the bit where it says you are connected to server and flips and changes when you are doing stuff. See if it says anything about you don't have permission to change this file or any other error message. Sometimes you think it has changed but you are not allowed and it doesn't - then we have to think again!!

Hi Bob,

thank you, and sorry I didn't tell you yet, in the meanwhile i've found out about editing "about.tpl", the problem is that the link just opens in a white page, even if there is allready some content in this page.

I think I'll try to us advertising blog for paypal banner and link it to a cms
