rightdrive
I have been experiencing a problem with our site for the past little while. We have not been able to add any products to the cart, the page just hangs, or we get the error below. If the smarty cache is on or off, we receive this error when adding items to the cart. TECHNICAL ERROR: unable to add the product. Details: Error thrown: [object XMLHttpRequest] Text status: error I have done the following to try and remedy the issue: - reuploaded the cart.php file in classes - uninstalled and reinstalled the cart module - turned off Ajax - removed featured products from front page - turned off all cache - turned off increased front office security Any suggestions on how this can be fixed? We cannot operate our store if the cart does not work. Thanks!
El Patron
try this: this will clean out the smarty cache..as it would seem there is something corrupted in there... http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/45020-module-clear-smarty-v14-ps-1215/
rightdrive
Thanks for the reply. I tried clearing the Smarty cache and compile folders, but it did not help unfortunately. What is happening is when we try to add something to the cart, nothing happens. Then if we click to go to another product or page, the Technical Error pops up. Then after going to the new page, the item will appear in the cart. I have all the caching turned off, Ajax cart turned off, and featured products turned off. I'm not sure where else I can make a change to help this issue.
benjamin utterback
Hello rightdrive, have you turned on Error Reporting?
razaro
Could you post a link to your website ? I tried at ww.rightdrive .ca and had no issues with add to cart. You could also try to clear browser cache and cookies. Edited February 5, 2013 by razaro (see edit history)
benjamin utterback
Hi razaro, I also tried that link, I am not sure if that is a PrestaShop store however. Definitely clear cache, cookies, and use different browsers.

benjamin utterback
Hi, no worries at all. I actually wasn't sure. Were you able to find another store?
rightdrive
Sorry, the website is www.rightdriveparts.com I've tried different browsers, different computers, and our customers have also complained, so I don't think it's an issue with that. razaro
Just tested it and it adds product to cart but after more then 1 minute past, so that is not good. Try this solution "The server was missing the PHP mbstring module. I've gone ahead andenabled it for you. The Add to Cart buttons are now working for me." from http://forge.prestashop.com/browse/PSCFI-3541 and check these topics. http://www.prestasho...xmlhttprequest/ http://www.prestasho...dd-the-product/
rightdrive
Thanks for all the suggestions, but I am still having this problem....sort of. I have another Prestashop store on the same server, and running without any issues, so I don't think it is a server side issue. Here is where I stand now: - featured products disabled - cart block uninstalled - Ajax disabled for cart - cache disabled - Smarty cache and compile folders dumped - Shipping carriers all disabled For now, I am not getting technical errors. The issue I have now is that it takes over 1 minute to add anything to the cart. If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it, we are losing so many sales to this issue.
