jmcamps
Hi, I might found a Prestashop 1.5 bug related to duplication of meta titles and meta descriptions in product pages caused by the aditional URLs that PS is creating for different attributes of the same product. If a product have more than one attribute, Prestashop creates additional URLs for each attribute, in which adds the attribute name behind the default product URL. Up to here is OK as this allows to have rich URLs for SEO. The problem is that all this URLs, which I said, are different for each product attribute, are using the same Meta Title and Meta Description (the one defined in the SEO products parameters). This is provoking Google WMT to complain as is seing duplicated content for all this URLs. I only see two solutions: 1. Modify the javascript that is generating this "nice" attribute included URLs to see if it can add in the Meta Title and in the Meta Description the attribute part, let said for example, size-40 or color-red 2. Tell Google not to index this URLs excluding the attribute parameters. I prefer the first one, as I guess must be a global problem as this is happening too in a new Prestashop installation, anybody knows how can be this javascript changed in order to correct this issue? gamhulk
Has anyone found a solution to this? I have been trying to find a way to add the attribute data to the meta title and metadescription. Also when creating an attribute it has a box (v 1.6) for specifying the URL (which works) and the "Meta Title" which does seem to do anything.
