Cannot Access Admin

I did a clean install of the latest version of Prestashop.

I specified a user email and password during the install.

I deleted the install folder.

I renamed the admin folder to admin6942.

I tried to log into the admin and it says "Employee does not exist or password is incorrect."

I tried to do a password retreival and it says "This account does not exist"

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Click in Lost password? enter your email and verify if received a new password.

Then try the new password.

I followed that procedure to the letter.

Same problem exists.

I still cannot log into the Admin side of my web site.

Hi I just installed everything according to the documents.. I also changed the admin folder name.. I see always blank page coming.. no luck yet.. and why can't we find any solution for this when everybody suffers from the same thing..

My problem is solved...

I'm not sure this is the solution for others experiencing variations on this problem.

This could have been avoided by simple programming.

 

When you create a password for a user is says use a password with a minimum of 8 alphanumeric characters.

Most of us have been encouraged to use a symbol somewhere in the password for a more resistance to hackers.

I used a "$" sign. On a hunch, during another clean install, I made sure not to use the symbol and I successfully got into admin.

 

Seems to me that prestashop could have checked for this, or at least specifically said "no symbols".

 

I'll be curious to see how many others find this to be the solution for their admin access problem.

Hi Russell,

 

I set up a test install and gave the admin password of pa$$word. This worked fine when I logged into the back office. This is with 1.5.3.1

 

Did you use any other specific special characters?

mostly it is write permission issue... give the folders write permission

Changing my password to exclude a single "$" character is what worked for me.

I've spent enough time on this issue... I'm in now!

What do you do when you want to sign into admin from a different computer and the IP isn't recogonized so you can't log on? I know my IP is there a back way log on to the admin? I wanted to work on my site from home and forgot about adding the IP from home to the admin I use at work. Make sense? Thanks.

same pbl. did not work.

 

no error, just stick to the same page. pass is good.

 

i think it does not work because i deleted the install files from cpanel and not with filezilla.

i reinstalled prestashop and this time worked.
