MrCT
Hey people!Prestashop and using CSV-files are quite new to me. I have however used Joomla, both the old 1.0x and 1.5x.I'm helping a friend of mine, who owns a hardware store, putting up a webshop. I've received a Excel-file from one of the manufacturers - but I can't get it to work a 100%.The manufacturer has a numerical product category system (which I haven't figured out how it works yet, and my contact at the manufacturer is on vacation). It starts at 11 and works it way to 19, then jumps to 21 and works it way to 29, and so on.. At 80-something, it starts counting at 110.. I'm guessing parent- and childcategorys.Just to learn, I have gived all the categorys alphanumerical names. Jidderisch 1, with the following cathegory +1. Same for URL rewrite. So far so good. Here's where the tricky part is;1. When importing products the screen goes blank. I'm guessing it times out. The database contains about 37000 products. 2. Even though I've created categorys and I have products in the category, I can't get the category to show in the category box in Front Office.Got any pointers?I feel I really gotta get this one solved! Another manufacturer has a database with about 150 000 products. If I can't manage handeling 37k I can't handle 150k.Take care!Chris
Patric
If the import Time out is a problem with the server. For the categories not displayed, which PS version do you use ?
MrCT
I downloaded the latest; 1.2 beta 2.A csv-file on 800 kb should not be a problem for the server. Although, it seems as it is. Can't think of anything else.
Patric
For the categories, maybe you should edit each of them and assign them to a user group like "default".
MrCT
126 categorys - for this manufacturer only. If there's any way around it, I'd be Stewie-happy!
Paulw01
Hi there,It sounds like your having the same problem as me. I cannot import 3500 products / 2000 categories in one upload via csv, server times out etc. I've checked with my host and the setttings are more than adequate to handle the small file I'm using. Have you had any further feedback on how to rectify the problem ? The only way round it for me is to upload in sections, but this is slow !CheersPaul
