Guest
Hi because of a site meltdown we have re-installed prestashop Originally it was located at www.graphskill.co.uk/prestashop That shop still exists (for now, I will delete it), but I have put it in maintenance mode and modified the file to say that we have moved and give a clickable link to redirect to the new store location The new store is located at www.graphskill.co.uk that is the root rather than subfolder So my questions would be 1) How do I tell google etc to remove the old pages and re-index? 2) Do i need to set a robot.txt file to tell spiders not to look in /prestashop recursively? (How?) I am happy to regenerate sitemaps and submit them, it is just about getting rid of what is already there Any ideas?
hitmaster
Hi, if the url structure would be the same, you can make 301 redirect and put this peace of code in to .htaccess RedirectMatch 301 /prestashop/(.*) http://www.graphskill.co.uk/$1 Article about redirection on SEOMoz: http://www.seomoz.org/learn-seo/redirection .
