Anyone knows why PS 1.5 still doesn't accept non-ASCII characters in URL or friendly URL?

For half the world it's very important for SEO and just for the user experience to have URLs like :

 

xxx.biz/المبرمجين الفرنسية (Arab)

abc.bizистка обуви (Russian)

xxx.biz/υποδημάτων (Greek)

皮鞋.biz/擦皮鞋 (Traditional Chinese)

xxx.biz/Pháp lập trình (Vietnamese)

xxx.biz/फ्रेंच प्रोग्रामर (Hindi)

נתים.biz/מתכנתיםצרפתים (Hebrew)

I guess I need to turn off the PS friendly URL rewriting and do my own .htaccess rewriting . Anybody has experience with this ?

 

After so many bug reports and forum posts I am surprised PS1.5 still doesn't do this.

 

And does anyone know if it's possible to include the country or currency in the pure (non friendly) URL ? So that I can use that for rewriting the domain name also ?
