Carrier No

When i change the order position to "shipped". Shop sends an email to customer saying "order is shipped". But carrier number enterance field opens after this position is seleceted. So i need to change the postion again to "shipped" status to enable second email which contains carrier number.

Isnt there a way to enter carrier number before shop sends shipment email?
