[solved] Change category position in prestashop 1.5.3

Recommended Posts

Hello to all,

As lot of users of prestashop 1.5.3, I couldn't order my categories as I wanted. Lately, I found a way that helped me to set the position of my categories as I wanted.

  1. I disabled all my categories.
  2. I set the categories in the position I wanted them
  3. And I re-enabled them and it worked

Thank you for your time…

Hi Benjamin,

Thank you for the quick respond it help me to find that while the multistore configuration is "all shop" I don't see the position column. The position column appear only when working on one of the shops.

Best Regards,

Yehonatan

Hello,

sorry to re-open this post. I have to sort my subcategories, so they appear in a different order in top menu.

But I don't seam to have the option to reposition them.

Untill now I move them all to the home categorie, to then put them back in subcategories, one by one.

I have tried to disable all categories: didn't help to create a sorting function under 'position'

Working on PS 1.5.6.2, my shop

Yes there is a bug in 1.5 that doesn't activate the position column properly until you use the arrows at the top first. Once you click on the arrows then you can start dragging and dropping the rows into the position you want.

So sort once using arrows at top, then drag and drop or use the arrows in the column to go up/down one at a time.
