How to add product options (not combinations)

If I have a product that is available in three colors and two sizes, I can do this through attributes/combinations. But what if I want to add selection of optional "bells" that the customer can add to their product if desired.

 

I tried adding the optional bells through associations but that does not give the desired effect because you can add the bells to cart without adding the product.

Any ideas?

It may be not ideal solution but this is what i come up with. You can try to create product pack. Here is screenshots how to create it

I see some modules in addons that add features to product packs that allow customers to add and remove items. But they don't seem to be updated for PS v1.5x as yet. You might need to contact them to get an update. Do a search in addons for product packs.

Thanks Bill. I did run across that and it looks really good. I may have no choice but to purchase if I cant find a simpler way to make it happen with the tools I have :/

 

Androk - that is a good suggestion, but because I have product combinations, I can't use packs. I could reconfigure everything but because the combinations are required for all products in this category, it might be a bit messy.

Ah, bug a boo... putting together a new site in which most of the products are 2oz, 4oz or 8oz  Hate the fact that if product A has 2,4,8 oz options but Pack 1 uses product A's 4oz that the 4oz would have to be a product of its own. It would be nice to be able to add a pack and within the pack the 4oz option from product A.
