Theme Installer Module not updating

I'm totally new to PrestaShop.

 

1. Installed PS using Simple Scripts through my Bluehost webhosting.

2. Everything went smooth.

3. Logged into back office area.

4. Noticed 1.5.2 installed.

5. Upgraded to PS 1.5.3.1 using "1-click feature"

6. Advanced Parameters > 1-Click Upgrade

7. Everything went smooth.

 

This is where things got weird.

I want to install new template.

Modules > Modules

 

According to documenation here:

There is a module for automating theme installations.

Documentation states module is titled "Import/export a theme".

 

I searched in module area and could not find any module titled this.

However, I did find "Template Installer" Module from Presta Shop.

I installed this module.

Everything went smooth.

 

I exited Module area.

Then went back into module area.

Modules > Modules

 

I looked for newly installed module "Template Installer"

I could not find any installed module titled this.

However, now I found installed module titled "Import/export a theme".

 

Strange, non???

Very confusing.

 

I assume this is same module I just installed?

And it's named changed upon installation?

 

I noticed this module is out of date.

I have Version 2.1

Yet, "Update 2.2 available..."

I click "Update It!" button.

 

The page reloads and it auto-scrolls down to the same module.

Nothing happens.

I click "Update It!" button again.

Same thing happens.

 

What am I doing wrong?

Why won't this module update to version 2.2?

 

Please advise.

This also happens to me on a fresh install of v1.5.3.1. I also am not able to import a theme with this module. When I upload the zip file from my computer for my new theme, it tries to load it then returns an error but it's just a generic "an error has occured during the file upload." No other information.

 

Is anyone else having the same issue?

 

I found the theme installer from the add-ons site, and downloaded what was supposed to be the new version 2.2. Then I deleted my module from the admin, reinstalled this "new" version using the module installer. But then I get the exact same version, 2.1, with the message that the upgraded version 2.2 is available from add-ons store, then I click update it but it doesn't update.

Well I was able to just overwrite the module folder with the latest version files which did update it to 2.2. However, I still get the same error when trying to install the theme.
