ricky11
Currently in 1.5x we can only discount for a particular customer group by a percentage. I've been searching, but so far, can't fine a way to increasing the price by a percentage.. I don't think i need a module for this, i hope someone can point me in the right direction, presumably its simple math that we need to code in. Looking forward to some help on this. Thanks R
ricky11
Thanks I will look into your modules, However i was hoping that since this software is open source (community edition), someone may have a solution or part of one, or perhaps insight into how to amend the code. I am aware that there are many modules available, and i have indeed purchased 3 of them already for my site. While at the same time i would like to learn about the code, and this forum is just for that reason. I don't believe its sole purpose is to push modules on new users, however thanks for your help. papagino
Hi Ricky11, Once you have created customer groups and you have assigned some of your customers to different groups, you can then go in your back office under Catalog/Products, select one of your products and click the "Prices. button. In that page, there is a section called "Specific prices" where you can specify different prices for different Customer Groups. This is also where you could specify different prices for quantity discount as an example... Hope this help... Cheers Daniel
ricky11
Hi Papagino, Thanks and i understand your point (its not a year later !!) Anyway, I am setting up a wholeslale system so the prices i have in my product prices are all factory cost prices, the way it works is that the customer is assigned to CUSTOMER10, that means increase the cost price by 10% for that customer group instead of the current method which is discount. So i think i need to edit the code somewhere. but not sure where.
papagino
Hey ricky11, yes, I guess you cannot have a -10% discount for the discount field. What about setting up your prices to be the highest by default and then apply discounts for the different customer groups? Cheers Dan
ricky11
Thanks that would work, but a little overly complicated rather than simply finding where the math function is for the price and simply changeing + to a - just need to figure how how the price is calumniated and where. yeah and the discount field does not allow -10% thanks. tuk66
If you need more precise settings (group & category combination), look at M4 Category discount module. It is possible to set surcharges as well as discounts, % or amount.
