product price discount

I wanted to find out if there is a way to go in and do a price discount for all products on the site? Like if I wanted to run a promo for 10% off.

Right now the only way I am seeing that I can do this is to go into each product and discount each product.

There has to be an easer way please let me know.

how about gift certificate.

there you can make one, which is for all customers
you can say 100 of them available
only one for each customer.
