Point of Sale integration with Prestashop

I have been asked by a large number of my clients whether or not Prestashop will integrate with any of their point of sale software. All of my clients are using Vend ( www.vendhq.com ) with great success.

After my initial enquiries, I was sad to find despite all Prestashops many features a glaring omission from them, and an important one is Point-of-Sale integration.

I contacted the Vend to see what e-commerce carts did in-fact integrate with the Vend, and there seems to be only two the MagentoGo and Shopify. Both of these options are not something that interests me, but what does interest me is having a top end Point of Sale software able to integrate with Prestashop.

 

Is it possible to open a category on the forums specifically to discuss point-of-sale and point-of-sale integration with Prestashop?

I believe this to be a positive way forward as I have no retail clients working without a point of sale software. Maybe even the Prestashop team could contact them to find some common ground, they have already told me that they would be more than interested.

 

Looking forward to trying to encourage some kind of dialogue between PS, Vend and the PS community.

I'm not sure if I miss or misunderstand a point, but there are more than one POS modules developed for Prestashop. I didn't need to integrate any of them personally, but they are widely used in countries like South Africa and Turkey, where POS and 3DSecure are the first payment option.

I just googled "prestashop pos" and came across at least 4-5 different modules. 

Does Vend require anything extra or different than a POS module?

Vend is a pretty sexy polished POS software.  The only Prestashop POS software that I know of that seems half way decent is EKSI-POS.  I like it because it's compatible with most hardware because its' web based it uses the same drivers that are on your pc for your scanner and printer.  http://ek-si.net/point-of-sale/

 

The only problem is that it's not 1.6 compatible yet and there are a few things it can't do, like take part payment in cash and part payment in card and a few other things.

 

If you could recommend another Prestashop compatible POS that would be awesome!

 

But I Agree I Think prestashop should be concentrating on a POS software and make a really good one.

I'm looking at using LinkSync to integrate my POS system (MYOB RetailManager) and Prestashop.

 

How has the process been integrating Vend and Prestashop?

Hello everyone.  Just joined the forum.  We are in need of a POS which works with Prestashop to guarantee the following:

• All sales from physical location, online, mobile swipe are coming out of one inventory system

EKSI-POS seems to do it.  But it requires separate hardware, right? Also, it doesn't seem to support Multiple Warehouses.  How about VEND?  Does it support multiple warehouses?  I emailed both of them but heard nothing back.
