arowana
I found some other competitor sites using the digital images I took and edited painstakingly. After sending them an email they did remove but the reply was rude and they didn't have any conscience that they are doing something wrong, they were saying that the pictures are all over the net. I'm really frustrated with these people effortlessly stealing images which we need to spend hours editing them. How will you people handle such a situation to prevent future stealing ? It seems to me that it's almost impossible to prevent people from copying the images on your site, a screen capture will easily take the image.Watermark is one of the best option but in terms of image presentation, watermark prevents customers from viewing the product properly. Anybody knows of best way to prevent people from stealing your Prestashop site product images, esp. the large ones ?
junnecito
The best way is to use the Watermark image with transparence. This is what I do.
JWToups
I haven't gotten the watermark function in Prestashop to work for me. I've had it regenerate all the images, I've cleared out my browser, tried it on different computers, and even added new products since. They still don't show up. And I've got way too many products in my shop to add it manually to each one and reupload. Anyone have any ideas?
arowana
I never got it working as well. Basically, it will add an image -watermark.jpg in your img folder but there's no way you can use it. My re-generate thumbnails will crash all the images in my folder and it never works as well for me.
Guest
As you may have already discovered, if someone is really determined to copy your images then that person will find a way to accomplish it. However, you can at least make it some what of a hassle for them to do that. One option is:As you create each of your images (in what ever software program that you use) also generate a "watermark" of your website name to place over your image. Then save your image with watermark as the complete image and upload it to your website. If someone does copy your image, at least it will be unusable to them as it will show your website address on it.Here is a link for more ideas on how to "slow down" anyone that might be thinking of copying your images in the future:(Be sure to read the entire article before trying any of the remedies suggested)http://pubs.logicalexpressions.com/pub0009/LPMArticle.asp?ID=41I hope this info helps! eqilibrium
Well, in theory the watermark should be enough, the thing is, there are many software programs that you can download form the net that will remove the watermark from any picture, you just need no search google for remove watermark...So, you can avoid most of people copying your images, but there will still be some stuborn ones... >:-(
