Has the search engine changed in prestashop 1?

Hello, has the search engine changed in the new prestashop? It seems the search engine from 0.9.7 was much better. For instance, in the new version with the sample products, I try to search for "Air" to see if the macbook air would show up, it doesnt. In the old version, you could search for anything in the title or description and it would find it.

 

It seems like the old seacrh was much better, has it changed?

I just read about the issue with searching for words with 3 letters or less.

 

But I also tried making a product named "123456 123-45-6" If I search for "123456" it shows up, if I search for "123-45-6" it does not show up. It seems in the old version this worked. Just wondering if the engine has been altered somehow.

Any news on this one?

 

The old search was great - giving a % score on the result, and always seeming to find the correct products.

 

Now on my site http://www.brilliantbikes.co.uk if I do a search for product CNW-2 it has 35 matches (the product I would expect at the top isn't) and only shows the first 10 with no option to see more.

 

If I search for HR-8 I get completely the wrong product.

 

The search works great in the backoffice - but this isn't much good for selling things.

 

This means the search isn't working for me.

 

What's changed?

Any ideas why the search doesn't seem as good as it used to be?
