PrestaBizz
I run 1.5.2.0, have generated sitemap.xml file and submitted to GWT. So far so good. After a couple of days GWT shows 40% pages indexed and no pictures indexed. For the next 10 days no more files are indexed. When I however, google site:www.mysite.com it looks like most (all) pages and pictures are indexed. Why isn't there consistency between these two methods and which of them is right? Dh42
Google webmaster tools take 2-3 and sometimes 5 days to update. Look at your traffic graphic and it will tell you how far behind it is.
PrestaBizz
Could you please put some more words on this. If I tab the traffic I can choose between Search Queries, Links to Your Site and Internal Links. None of these show how long GWT is behind. Please elaborate! Thanks. Dh42
Mine is currently showing one day behind http://screencast.com/t/yjswWIQ7bi5 Just because you submit content to google, does not mean that they are going to added it to the index. If you have the same picture of a shoe that 500 other sites have, they don't need that picture, so they will not add it.
PrestaBizz
Thanks a lot for the reply! I checked and mine is apparently 10 days behind. The strange thing is when I google site:www.mysite.com it seems most of the pages and pictures are indexed. This doesnt correspond to the graph in GWT which shows only 40% pages indexed and no pictures. Do you know why? Thanks.
