Install of prestashop 1.4.3 stuck on step 3

I am attempting to install the template on my server. I have started the prestashop 1.4.3 install process have a problem on Step 3. I have entered the mysql database and credentials successfully and when I click Verify Now I receive a message that the database is connected. However when I click the next button I am returned to the database section. I have successfully installed a 1.5.3 engine on this machine, however I need version 1.4.3 for my template.

 

I created the prestashop schema using MySQL workbench 5.2.44 running mysql 5.5 which is the latest version.

 

Machine is windows server 3003 R2 running iis 6.0.
