php 5.2.9 question

Hi,

I am on hostgator and they have 5.2.9 which is reckoned by the Prestashop team to cause image problems with Prestashop.

Does this mean I cannot use Prestashop at all, or does this mean it will just have limited functionality or the the odd hiccup?

I have a reseller account with Hostgator, so not an easy option to change hosts.

I think that Prestashop is a great ecommerce program and would love to be able to use it.
