When trying to get shipping estimate the page just spins

Hello everyone,

 

I want some advice on what I could do or to check what is wrong at my shop. When using guest checkout and you add a product to the cart then go to the summary page and when you try to get an estimate of the shipping and taxes all it does is spin saying trying to retrieve information.

 

But if I let it keep spinning then just click to go to the next pages the shipping options do get added. if I log into an account or create one all works great. it's only on guest checkout that it's doing this issue

 

I use 1.4.9 on a linux vps server.

 

If anyone can point me in the right direction or have any ideas on how to fix this I would appreciate it very much
