EileenQ
Can anyone please help me? I am new to Prestashop. My customer has just had a shop done by a web company but because of several problems their relationship has broken down and I have been tasked to move the shop to a new domain. The background is that the shop is still on the existing domain but before severing ties with the old company I need to get the shop working in its new environment. I have read all through the forums and the prestashop help and carried out everything suggested ie I have copied over all the files to the new domain (which has a temporary name until I can definately get the shop working) done backups and changed config files set permissions etc. However although I can get into the back office admin, when I try to go to the live shop I get a blank screen. The web page does go to the correct url but I just get a 500 error and the blank page. Its almost as if it cannot find the index page even though this is in place and points to the config file which has been altered to show the correct url etc. Could it be that the shop cannot be in two places at once (even though mine is not live) or have I missed a vital setting or maybe its a licensing problem??? Any help would really be much appreciated as I would like to help this person who has been trying now for 8 months to get the shop live. Thank you in advance to anyone who will kindly take the time to suggest anything that I can try. Eileen
NemoPS
Hi! Have you tried turning on errors(see my signature) and see if you still get the nasty 500 page?
benjamin utterback
You can learn about the 500 Error and how to troubleshoot using error reporting (as Nemo1 stated) in the blog post located in my signature.
Carolina Custom Designs
A 500 error is a server error. Most likely this is a directory permissions problem. Double check all directories to make sure they have the proper permissions and that the group/owners are correct. Marty Shue
