How to increase limit of meta keywords

I am trying to find a way to increase limit of meta keywords in prestashop but havn't got any success. Could some one help me out.

You would be wasting your time increasing the meta keywords and maybe penalizing your site by using too many.

Meta keywords does not play effective role in search engine optimization. Google serarch engine does not rely on meta keywords.

I think you have to focus on page title, meta description rathar then meta keywrods.

I don't recommend to use meta keyword because your competitors can find keyword you like to rank higher in search engine.

Build better category meta descriptions, category descriptions, write good information about product, add pictures and videos, allow your customers add reviews and so on...

+1. Google is not counting meta-keywords since 2(?) years now. This technique is obsolete.

using prestashop 1.6 you can edit the max-length of SEO editing

{your_admin_folder}/themes/default/template/controllers/products/seo.tpl

 

and change all the data eg.

maxchar=260
maxlength=260

Try to use variation in content and try to give full information about your product and services by optimizing all the words in content (I am asking about keywords stuffing), but you need to put all your words in content and metas it will ranks automatically instead of focusing meta keywords.

You should not emphasize too much on meta keywords limit. only 50-60 keyword limit will be good for you. Just make sure it is written properly and does not include your business keywords otherwise google can penalize it.

The simple defination of increasing the limit of meta keywords is use keywords variation and try to cover all the words (words retated to your niche) in your content

Meta keywords were deprecated long time ago by Google. Use them only for making internal search easier.

Meta keywords limit are not more important for website or SEO. You can concentrate on page title and description. It's play an important role for SEO or Ranking on SERP.

Increasing your meta keyword is not a good option. Instead of this, you should write some good content and promote your website through legit sources like your social media links. It will be much beneficial for you.

I agree with Nelson, Meta kw are not so essential. While social media marketing can also help you enhance your web presence instead of meta kw.

For categories, you have to edit differently.

1. Locate to /classes/Category.php

Locate to this line of code and change 255 to a bigger number.

'meta_keywords' =>        array('type' => self::TYPE_STRING, 'lang' => true, 'validate' => 'isGenericName', 'size' => 255),

2. Alter table category_lang, field meta_keywords in your database.

I suppose that you know how to "alter table column size in mysql" or at least google for that
