Getting blank pages on smarty 3 || HTTP500

Please skip reading to the bottom, i fixed all problems except 1 small issue.

Dear Prestashop peoples, I am experiencing quite an unusual problem and as I am not a presta professional and have just struggled for nearly 2 hours I figured it might be wise to do a post here.

 

It's about gamecard.net

 

The problem we have is as follows. We did a restore backup because we messed up some files earlier today. Then after the backup was restored to a, supposedly working version, we were getting HTTP 500 errors out of the blue. Never happened before..

 

So first of all I tried to figure out where those http500 errors came from, turns out when I switch off Smarty 3 and set it back to Smarty 2 suddenly the site works fine again except we do not see a 'home' page and also the cart is not showing as soon as we enter products to it. Anyway, it seems weird to me to shut Smarty 3 off since it used to work fine before..

 

I've been struggling with this and can not figure it out. Pointing me in the right direction would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

EDIT: I just ma naged to get the homepage working again. It's just the cart not showing when we entered products to it!

 

 

EDIT 2: Turns out the Cart is showing fine when its e mpty or when user is logged in. When you are not logged in and have products in cart it's not showing.
