change url

i would like to change my shop url.

 

i have the new url running with the same hosting.

is there a simple way to just change the url?

or to transfer the database or something?

For best performance you will need to copy the entire shop to your hard drive via FTP then upload to the new domain.

THEN:

In 1.4 use FTP to browse to ..config folder and change PS_BASE_URI setting in settings.inc.php.

Then go to the database and edit the Configuration table select browse and browse pages and change all instances of url's that point to old domain usually ADMIN_DIR, PS_SHOP DOMAIN & PS_SHOP_DOMAIN_SSL.

 

In 1.5 edit database and browse to PS_SHOP_URL select browse then edit and change shop url's.

you can (after making sure new URL points to you old install)

 

Back Office-->Preferences-->SEO & URLs

change the Shop domain name (scroll down) to the new URL

 

make sure to clear your browser cache and cookies after and before testing
