Having trouble with combinations and attributes surely there must be a way?

Hi

 

All I want to do is for example,

 

sell a phone + free headphones, either red or black headphones

 

If I add an attribute for headphones with two values, red or black, I can only add one to the combination.

 

That means I need to add another combination just for the other colour.

 

If i have 20 phones and 100 headphones. If i have two combinations i need to have 10 phones in each. But if all 10 black headphone sets sell in reality i still have 10 phones that could be sold with headsets.

 

This whole combination and stock linking is confusing me.
