tiptoe
Hi I have been quoted €360 to download the newest version of Prestashop on to 2 websites. Is this a good deal or how much should I expect to pay? Would really appreciate your help Thanks
Dh42
It is all relative to how your shops are set up, what modules they are using and what themes they are using.
tiptoe
Hi Thanks for replying.. I dont actually know ! Where would I find this information?
Dh42
You would look in the back office of your shop. What version are they upgrading your shop to and why are you upgrading it? What version is your shop currently running? You should be able to find what version you are running on the footer of your page in the back office. tiptoe
Some products have disappeared from one of my pages and I thought that I actually had to upgrade to keep the site running smoothly. Am I totally wrong here? Currently running the following Version 1.3.1.1 - 7.825s
Dh42
Well, there is some underlying problem that would cause the products to disappear that might need to be fixed. You can either hope that upgrading fixes it or it can be fixed and you go on smoothly without it.
tiptoe
Thanks for replying. Still wondering of the price I am being quoted is reasonable ?
bellini13
You are basically asking if $20,000 sound right for a car, without saying what type of car you are buying. What custom modules are being used, do they need to be upgraded? What theme do you intend to use? Are you planning to upgrade to v1.4.9, or v1.5.2? How large are the stores (number of products, customers and existing orders). What languages and currencies do you require? What are the shipping options? What payment methods do you support. All of these need to be considered and all effect the effort and complexity. Has the developer asked you some/all of these questions already? benwiggy
From the looks of other posts here, migrating data (and themes) to a new version is far from easy, so if you don't think you can do it yourself, then I guess it's not unreasonable. tdr170
It's not a bad deal I would charge more then that for 2 sites. But it still depends are what you are upgrading from, theme, modules and so on. You should also consider the look of your site, if your using a custom theme there is a good chance that it will not work with the latest version of Prestashop, same for third party or custom modules. Make sure that whatever you do create a backup of the site in case things go wrong and always hire someone whith great knowledge of Prestashop not just a web developer.
